Goodreads Summary:
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect.

This book is a whole another type of paranormal.  It wasn't at all what I expected, but I really like it! Deznee Cross is a teenage girl who is always looking for ways to make her dad mad.  She is always getting into some type of trouble, so when she finds this boy in the woods who seems to need her help, she can't help but bring him home.  This is crazy in general, because why would a teenage girl bring home a random stranger just to make her father angry? But, I digress.

This random hottie has a name, and it's Kale.  He can't touch anyone without killing them.  He literally will turn them to dust.  Deznee found out way more about her father than she expected and determines it to be her destiny to help this stranger, especially when she discovers more about her mother.  The one who isn't around anymore.

Deznee is a frustrating character because she makes so many decisions that could potentially kill her or those around her.  However, she is very passionate about what she's doing and wants to help out Kale.  Kale and Deznee seem like the perfect pair to get rid of the Denazen Corporation.  There is so much anticipation  and suspense in this novel.  There was a lot of different paranormal happenings as well, and I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it.  I have to admit, overall I've been pretty over the paranormal genre.  I haven't been able to find anything that hasn't been done before.  This book thought has changed my mind.  Accardo found a way to make paranormal something new and exciting for me.  I can't wait to get my hands on the next Denazen novel to find out what happens to these two and the rest of the paranormal world.

My suggestion?  If you love paranormal books, this is a book you should definitely pick up to buy.  If you aren't sure about the paranormal genre, I still think you should pick it up at your local library and give it a shot!
