Weird. Screwed up. Unbelievable.
Those are words that come to mind when I think of this book. Alex has moved to a new town with her mother after her father had an affair. She tries to meet new people, and her first new friend is Fred. She thinks Fred is a good looking guy and kind of wants to be more than friends. Then, Alex meets Adina, Fred's twin sister. She's kind of crazy. It almost seems as though Adina has a thing for her brother. Like she doesn't want him to have anyone but her. She might do anything to make it stay that way too.
This book was more than just a little messed up. I couldn't imagine being Alex, but she certainly doesn't seem to listen to anyone. It's like she thinks she has it all figured out, but really she probably should have listened when people told her Fred and Adina were different and odd. Alex just didn't realized how different they were. Adina is psychotic. Plain and simple, she's crazy. She needs a lot of mental help, but Alex and Fred don't really see it at first. They almost prefer to think she's just overprotective.
