This Friday's Question:
Taking it Personal: Which books have effected you on a personal level and lingered in your mind long after you closed the pages?
These are the books that come to mind for me:
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher - I don't think I will ever forget this book. I have recommended this book to so many people because it seems like one that everyone should read. It shows us how one thing we do can make a major impact on another person's life. This is one of the best, if not the best, book I've read this year.
Unwind by Neal Shusterman - This one may not be obvious to some people. This book just constantly makes me wonder if life could really be like this one day? Could the fight between pro-life and pro-choice come down to this? It's a pretty scary thought, but this is an amazing and well-written book.
Bitter End by Jennifer Brown - This one was definitely a book I could relate to. I know friends and family members that have dealt with abusive boyfriends or who are dealing with an abusive boyfriend. Whether physical or mental, it's abuse. I have always wondered what makes a person stay? Why is it that no matter how many people point out what is going on the person with the abuser doesn't see it? This books explains it all. I think Brown does a great job of telling us the point-of-view from someone who is being abused. Someone who doesn't know how to get out and can't necessarily see why she needs too. Brown wrote a book that so many people can relate to and it sticks with you.
I'm going to stop with the explanations of why, but here are a few others:
