The Lying Game by Sara Shepard

The Lying Game (The Lying Game #1)

Goodreads Summary:

I had a life anyone would kill for.
Then someone did.

The worst part of being dead is that there’s nothing left to live for. No more kisses. No more secrets. No more gossip. It’s enough to kill a girl all over again. But I’m about to get something no one else does—an encore performance, thanks to Emma, the long-lost twin sister I never even got to meet.
Now Emma’s desperate to know what happened to me. And the only way to figure it out is to be me—to slip into my old life and piece it all together. But can she laugh at inside jokes with my best friends? Convince my boyfriend she’s the girl he fell in love with? Pretend to be a happy, carefree daughter when she hugs my parents good night? And can she keep up the charade, even after she realizes my murderer is watching her every move?
From Sara Shepard, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Pretty Little Liars books, comes a riveting new series about secrets, lies, and killer consequences.
Let the lying game begin.

What would it be like to be a 17 year old girl who has been raised in foster homes and you find out that you have a twin sister?  You don't know this girl, but you realize that after the video you've seen you want to find out who she is.  After all...she's the only family you've got.

That's what it's like for 17-yr old Emma.  Emma goes on a journey to meet this long lost twin of hers...but she is met with an unexpected situation.  Sutton, her twin, is missing.  Most likely dead.  Emma needs to pretend to be Sutton around her friends, family, etc. or she's next.  How will Emma find her sisters killer?  Will she stick around long enough to discover who it is?  You are kept on your toes in this novel constantly wondering who is the killer.  Your mind flips from one thought to the next and in the end...you don't know where you're going to go.  I can't wait to continue reading this series to find out how Emma does in her new role!  This was a great novel and the first I've read of Shepard's.
