I can't pass up a little bit of paranormal romance in my reading.  I've been waiting for this book at the library since I was #50 on the hold list.  I was not disappointed.  I love the Sookie Stackhouse series and Charlaine Harris never disappoints.  Eric & Sookie are a cute couple (although if you've watched True Blood on HBO, I don't like the Eric character...not what I imagined).  Sookie is always getting into some sort of trouble with the supernatural beings she has hanging around.  This book was filled with excitement and longing.  I hate how it ended because I hoped for so much more of a wrap-up!  I guess there must be another one coming, right?!

Undead and Unwelcome by Mary Janice Davidson

Synopsis:  Seventy-five thousand angry werewolves.  That's what Betsy is facing when she delivers the body of her werewolf friend Antonia to Cape Cod's Wyndham Manor, where the pack resides.  Antonia died in her service.  Betsy is alive and well - and wracked with guilt.  She has no idea if the Wyndham werewolves will welcome her with fangs or friendship.  While Betsy and her husband, Sinclair, try to make nice, their posse back in St. Paul alerts Betsy to her half sister's increasingly erratic behavior.  Looks like the devil's daughter is coming into her own - and raising hell.  All in the name of making Betsy's life easier, of course.

Okay, so this series is very amusing, but sometimes the characters can be annoying.  Marc could have done major things differently throughout this book, and Betsy continued to be self-absorbed.  This is book 8 of this series and certainly offers more twists and turns into the supernatural world.  We learn more about species that "don't" exist and some unusual powers of supposedly human individuals.  This book once again offers excitement and adventure.  I couldn't wait for Betsy and Sinclair to resolve the werewolf problems and get back home to see how they would handle the situation with Laura - Betsy's sister.  The choices Betsy made in this book will definitely affect the future, but I have to say that choices she makes for herself and those around her don't always make a lot of sense.

Undead and Unworthy by Mary Janice Davidson

Synopsis:  Betsy thought entering the world of the undead was a big adjustment.  Being a new bride isn't much easier.  The blush has only been on for two months, and she has a lot to do: set up the new house, finish writing thank-you notes, and raise BabyJon, her half brother and legal ward.

As if Betsy wasn't stressed out enough, her husband, Sinclair, has been perusing the Book of the Dead, and she's been visited by a ghost who's even more insufferable, stubborn, and annoying in death than she was in life.  It's all just a prelude to the fun and games awaiting Betsy and Sinclair when a pack of ancient vampires, hungry for blood and power, pays a visit to the happy couple.

Book 7 of the Betsy Taylor series definitely has something to offer.  The excitement and adventure is kicked up a notch, but once again Betsy is developing powers she didn't know she had before.  This scares those around her as well as makes them wonder what she really is.  Betsy is the Vampire Queen, but she doesn't take this role seriously.  In no way does she begin to think of others, rather than focusing on the needs of herself.  This book begins with a quote from the Book of the Dead, which leads you to believe the happenings for Betsy and Sinclair are in no way over.  Although she will reign for one thousand years, I can't imagine the difficulties she will go through during that time.  Overall, another indulgent easy read and a great addition to the series.  I feel like I haven't read many books of substance lately, but rather have been enjoying the fast and easy reads.  I'll make up for it soon!

What is poor Betsy going to do?  The excitement of this book is beyond that of any other Betsy Taylor book I have read.  This sixth installment kept me reading like no other, although Betsy still has her quirks.  Betsy's family and friends seem to keep disappearing.  Bad things are continuing to happen, but Betsy hasn't noticed.  She's been involved with her own wedding planning that she fails to notice what has been happening around her.  Guarantee this...when she finds out what has happened and who is responsible she will take action unexpected by her or anyone else.  The ideas Besty discovers during this book are definitely going to be life changing for her as well as the rest of the vampire world.  Another great book and an indulgent read!

Betsy is in for a whole new round of craziness in her world.  European vampires bring a new problem for Betsy...if a vampire committs murder over a hundred years ago, should they be punished? and how?  Betsy is in the midst of planning her wedding and telling her friends not to have a birthday party for her.  She has so much on her plate how is she supposed to notice what's going-on around her?  Betsy is self-absorbed as always, but the books are entertaining and certanily know how to hook you.  Her ever-changing and growing group of "friends" is amusing as well.
