Review: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Publication Date: 9-27-2011
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Pages: 464
Format: Hardcover
Source: Purchased
Challenge: TBR Challenge

Goodreads Summary:
Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.
She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.

I don’t know why this book sat on my TBR shelf for so long.  It was amazing! The best book I’ve read so far this year.  I so need myself a Noah Shaw *sigh*.  I can’t stop thinking about that amazing boy.

Mara doesn’t remember the accident.  She doesn’t remember how her friends died or how they go there, but she wants to.   This book is about her journey into finding out what happened that night, what is happening now, and who she is exactly.  This is Mara’s story.  Noah Shaw is an amazing boy who feels an incessant need to be near Mara.  He doesn’t know exactly why, but he can’t leave her alone.  He wants to help her and just wants to be close to her.  Noah has an idea as to why Mara and he are connected in a strange way, but he wants to learn more about her before he says what that is.

I just can’t say enough good things about this book.  The plot line was great; the characters were well-developed and realistic.  The supernatural element was perfectly orchestrated.  It all fit together beautifully.  I can’t wait to read the second book in this series.  I NEED more of Noah Shaw.  He’s my new crush!

Hi Tina-

Yes! I believe it is set-up to be a trilogy, and the second book comes out later this year. I'm excited as well!
