TGIF (15): Oct. 7, 2011

Photobucket

TGIF is a feature at GReads which recaps the posts for the week and has a different question each week for bloggers to answer.

This Friday's Question:

To-Be-Read's: How big is your pile? Which book keeps getting pushed down the stack, but you keep meaning to read it?

To tell or not to tell.  Gosh.  If I had my camera readily available I would take a picture for you.  Right now, my shelves contain more books to be read than those that have been read.  Probably because I have bought books, but also get books from the library (and those come first).

I wouldn't say there are any in particular that get pushed down the stack.  Lately I feel like I'm in a reading slump.  I usually read 4-5 books a week, but so far I've only read 2 this week.  The same two that I had worked on the weekend before.  I just haven't been in the mood to pick up anything, and there aren't any books that are catching me and pulling me in as they usually do.  I guess I just need to keep on going until I find the one that hooks me!

Anyway, I have 2 three shelf shelves full of books (plus more not on shelves).  Currently, only one of the shelves on these bookcases have books that I have read.  I just recently purged my shelves and donated books that I knew I wouldn't read again.  This is why my TBR is so amazingly large in comparison.  I have about 10 books from netGalley that need to be read, and another 3 books for review in print.  Other than that, my books are just ones that I have purchased and want to read in the near future.  I kind of put myself on a book buying ban, but I'm participating in the Review Challenge so the next time I buy a book will be when I read 4 books.

I just keep rambling in this post, haha.  Let's see...I'm just going to list some random books from my TBR that have been there for a while (no particular order)

1. Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz
2. The Maze Runner by James Dashner
3. The Duff by Kody Keplinger
4. Ten Things We Did (and Probably Shouldn't Have) by Sara Mlynowski
5. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

How about you?  What's been on your TBR for a while?
