Goodreads Summary:
Three years ago, Alison disappeared after a slumber party, not to be seen since. Her friends at the elite Pennsylvania school mourned her, but they also breathed secret sighs of relief. Each of them guarded a secret that only Alison had known. Now they have other dirty little secrets, secrets that could sink them in their gossip-hungry world. When each of them begins receiving anonymous emails and text messages, panic, sets in. Are they being betrayed by some one in their circle? Worse yet: Is Alison back? A strong launch for a suspenseful series.

Wow.  Why didn't I pick up this series sooner?  Sara Shepard is an amazing writer.  I kept guessing at what would happen, but nothing I guessed was ever right.  I wanted to find out just as much as Alison's friends what's going on, but as I know, there are a ton of books in this series so I wasn't going to find out in number one.
The way this story ended, however, was so surprising!  I didn't expect that type of ending, especially in the first book, but what a way to put a twist in the storyline.  This is another book that I can't seem to say enough good things about.  I can completely see why this series was made into a t.v. show.  It has the perfect dialogue and storyline to keep people interested while watching.

I'm sure Alison's friends are in for a ton of twists and surprises in the upcoming books.  I can't wait to get my hands on them to read!  The first Sara Shepard book I read was The Lying Game which is what drew me to Pretty Little Liars.  I wish I would have found out sooner so I could have read Pretty Little Liars before the t.v. show began!  If you still haven't read this series you are missing out on a lot of fun and excitement.

I love the TV show of this but I'm not sure how I'd feel about reading the books as well. I'm glad you enjoyed it =]

I have not seen the TV show so I don't know how it compares to the books, but the books are great!
