Goodreads Summary:
"I do not remember being bitten. I wish I did, for then I would know the creature who did this to me and I would have a purpose, to track him down and repay him for the poisoned gift he gave me." Back in the 13th Century, Will was destined to be Earl of Mercia. He never lived to inherit his title, struck down by a strange illness and buried beneath the city walls. But Will was not dead, and only now, seven lonely centuries later, does he begin to understand that there was a reason for all of this, that he has a destiny. To find it though, he will need help, and as ever, he will need blood.

Review:
I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It was so different than your typical vampire novel. Usually the vampires are out to kill everyone, suck their blood, and know their maker. They understand what they are and how they became that way. Vampires are usually obsessed with finding their next food source, whether human or animal.
This book focused on Will trying to find out why he is vampire, who his maker is, and what his destiny is. He isn't sucking blood and killing people constantly. It was strange, but he doesn't strike as much fear in people as vampires usually do either. Everyone he met seemed excited to get to know him and help him discover his destiny. I just enjoyed this novel so much. I kept reading because I wanted to know as much as Will did what his destiny is. It was so nice to change it up from the typical vampire stereotype in books and have something new to delve into and enjoy.
