The Start of a New Semester!

I'm in my second week of classes in the MBA program at my school.  This semester includes two undergrad courses to finish up my double major in Business Management and Marketing, as well as two grad classes to start my MBA.  Woah!  I know!  How will I ever have time to read?!  Let alone, blog about it?!

Well, I'm going to try!  I've always been a reader, but never a blogger.  I've never tried to put my thoughts, opinions, and ideas about a book down for others to look at, but this semester I'm ready to take on the WORLD!  Not quite the world, but maybe blogspot. ;)

I consider myself a typical student, but some may not.  I participate on the goodreads website and keep track of the books I've read, which helps tremendously in choosing new reads.  I have set a goal for myself to read 120 books this year.  I know what you're thinking..."that's crazy!"  Yes, I know I may be a little off-balance, but I've set the goal and I can't go back now!

Since I've started this a little late in the year, I'm going to just list the books I've already read this year and I'll do my first blog when I finish up the book I'm currently reading.

Here's my list:

Family Secrets: A Novel by Judith Henry Wall
Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks
The Pilot's Wife by Anita Shreve
Sea Glass by Anita Shreve
Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve
Testimony by Anita Shreve
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer
The Family Bones by Kimberly Raiser
The Great Gatsby by Scott F. Fitzgerald
Day After Night by Anita Diamant

I would like to think I'm off to a great start!  I've read 10 books this January, and I'm on #11.  Hopefully, it will be done before February which will mean I'm ahead of the average!  I'm sure you have already assumed these books were read before I started school, and you would be right in that assumption.  I've drastically slowed down reading since starting classes, but I'm still hopeful that I will reach my goal!

Also, if you haven't noticed, I've discovered a new favorite author, Anita Shreve.  Her writing is amazing and I recommend you pick up one of her novels and take a peek!  You may be pleasantly surprised.

Part of my goal includes clearing off my bookshelf.  This has been a problem since I discovered Anita Shreve.  I keep going to the library to checkout more of her books!  I also received an Amazon Kindle for Christmas which has just encouraged the downloading of more FREE (or drastically reduced in price) books.

Hopefully I can clear off at least one shelf of my bookshelf this year.

Well, I've done enough talking so far without giving a review.  Hopefully this blog is interesting to you, as well as myself, so I continue to update and provide my thoughts.  Write again soon!
